PATH Grant Application

The Pipeline for the Advancement of the Healthcare Workforce (PATH), funded through the Illinois Community College Board grant, aims to serve, create, support and expand the opportunities for individuals in nursing and select health care pathways to obtain certificates and degrees, allowing them to enter and/or advance their careers in the healthcare industry.

As a PATH Participant, you may be eligible to receive:

• Tuition and fee assistance
• Books and Materials
• Education stipend
• Transportation stipend
• Childcare assistance
• Tutoring
• Essential and employability skills training

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• A 2.0 GPA or higher is preferred.
• Must be actively enrolled in an eligible program (credit programs) OR must have intent to enroll in an eligible non-credit program.
• Must be attending and making progress in current MCC courses (may be verified if necessary).
• Must not have any current, or past unresolved, Student Code of Conduct issues.
• Must provide documentation of the specific expense (e.g. bill, statement, etc.) for which payment is requested.
• Documentation must show the total amount due and the name and address of the company clearly visible. When possible, please upload a PDF of the complete bill or statement.
• Must explain the circumstance that is impacting their financial situation.

Some examples of expenses that are NOT eligible include (but are not limited to):

• Parking tickets and other fines
• Credit card bills
• Pet expenses
• Payments to individuals
• Most retail purchases

* Required for credit students. Not required for Continuing Education students (EKG Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, Medical Assistant)
